Message from the Headteacher
Next week marks an important milestone for our Year 6 children as they begin their end-of-Key-Stage-2 SATs. We want to wish them the very best of luck — they have worked incredibly hard throughout the year in preparation for these statutory assessments.
We kindly ask parents and carers to support their children by ensuring they maintain their usual sleep routines over the weekend and throughout next week. A balanced breakfast is essential, and we recommend avoiding high-sugar foods, which can cause energy spikes and impact concentration levels.
It is vitally important that all Year 6 pupils arrive on time eeveryday next week. Being late can cause unnecessary stress and disruption at a time when calm and confidence are key. There must be no absences during the assessment period unless absolutely unavoidable — in the event of any unforeseen circumstances, please contact the school office as soon as possible so we can decide the next steps.
Please also avoid adding pressure at home — our children are ready, and your continued encouragement is appreciated.
A reminder to parents and carers of children due to start Reception in September: please ensure you have secured your allocated place for the next academic year. If you have not received confirmation or are unsure of your child’s place, we urge you to contact your local borough admissions team as a matter of urgency.
Yesterday, we marked the 80th anniversary of VE Day — a significant day in British history. This is a time for reflection and remembrance, acknowledging the sacrifices made by those before us so we may enjoy the freedoms we have today. As a school, we believe it is important for our children to understand the value of peace, resilience, and gratitude.
Warm regards Iman Basu Roy
