Warm Weather Reminder
With a warm week forecast ahead, we kindly ask parents to ensure that children are dressed appropriately for the weather. Where possible, please encourage lighter uniform options and consider avoiding tights and long socks to help children stay comfortable throughout the day. Please also ensure that your child brings a clearly named water bottle to school each day, which can be refilled as needed. At school, we are keeping classrooms well ventilated, reminding children to remove jumpers when appropriate, and encouraging regular hydration. We are also putting up shade sails where possible to create cooler outdoor spaces. With several events taking place this week, we will do our best to provide additional shade through the use of gazebos and will ensure that children have regular opportunities to rest and rehydrate. Working together, we can help everyone stay safe, comfortable, and ready to enjoy the week ahead.
Parent Governor Appointment
The Governing Body of Vicar’s Green Primary School recently advertised a vacancy for a Parent Governor, and information regarding this opportunity was shared with parents a few weeks ago. We were pleased to receive expressions of interest from members of our parent community and would like to thank everyone who considered taking on this important role.
Following the close of nominations, one valid application was received. In accordance with the school's governance procedures, where the number of valid nominations does not exceed the number of vacancies available, no election is required, and the applicant is automatically elected unopposed to the position.
I am therefore pleased to confirm that Mr Senai Xavier has been elected unopposed as Parent Governor for a second four-year term. Mr Xavier has made a valuable contribution to the work of the Governing Body during his first term, and I look forward to continuing to work closely with him in supporting the strategic development of the school.
