Message from the Head Teacher
This week marked the end of SATs for our Year 6 pupils, and I would like to congratulate them all for the resilience, determination, maturity, and positive attitude they demonstrated throughout the week. They approached each day with calmness and focus, and we are extremely proud of the way they conducted themselves. The week itself ran very smoothly and was a reflection of the excellent preparation and organisation that had taken place beforehand.
A huge thank you must also go to our Year 6 teachers and all teaching assistants for their dedication, encouragement, and hard work over the past term and a half in ensuring pupils felt confident and fully prepared. As a small celebration of the children’s efforts, Year 6 will be enjoying pizzas and ice lollies this afternoon.
Although SATs are now complete, learning certainly does not stop here. We will continue developing pupils’ writing skills, with a particular focus on writing at length across a range of genres to further prepare them for secondary school. We also have an exciting and busy half-term ahead, including preparations for the end-of-year production and the much-anticipated residential trip.
Our Mini Beast Parade was a huge success, with a wonderful variety of colourful and creative little creatures making their way around the school throughout the day. The children looked fantastic and clearly took great pride in their work and costumes. We were delighted to see such excellent attendance from parents, and it was also lovely to welcome members of the governing body who joined us for the celebrations.
These end-of-unit celebrations are an important part of school life, giving children valuable opportunities to showcase their learning, build confidence, and celebrate their creativity and achievements with the wider school community.
Warm regards Iman Basu Roy
