Message from the Head Teacher
As we look ahead to next week, we would like to wish all of our Year 6 children the very best of luck as they begin their end-of-Key-Stage-2 SATs. They have worked incredibly hard throughout the year in preparation for these statutory assessments, and we are extremely proud of their effort, determination and resilience.
We kindly ask parents and carers to support their children by helping them maintain their usual sleep routines over the weekend and throughout next week. A balanced breakfast each morning is also essential, and we recommend avoiding high-sugar foods, which can lead to energy spikes and impact concentration levels during the school day.
It is vitally important that all Year 6 pupils arrive on time every day next week. Being late can cause unnecessary stress and disruption at a time when calmness, confidence and routine are especially important. There should be no absences during the assessment period unless absolutely unavoidable. In the event of any unforeseen circumstances, please contact the school office as soon as possible so that we can advise on the appropriate next steps.
Yesterday, during the polling day closure, all school staff took part in a full day of professional development and training. Staff enjoyed a practical and engaging Design and Technology session. They explored the importance of design briefs and specifications, analysed existing products, and considered each stage of the design process, including making and evaluating. The session finished with staff creating their own wooden picture frames using saws and a range of decorative materials such as paint, glitter, sequins and bows. It was fantastic to see everyone fully engaged and embracing their creativity. Thank you to Ms White for planning and delivering such an enjoyable and informative session for the staff team.
Warm regards Iman Basu Roy
