Message from the Head Teacher
The school has subscribed to a cloud based medical recording system called Medical Tracker, which enables recording, tracking, management of injuries, illnesses, accident investigations, care plans and medication administration. Last year Ms. Lydon, our Safeguarding Lead and I were both trained on using this software and next week we will be rolling this out to all staff who are pediatric first aid trained. Moving forward parents will be emailed a letter if any first aid or medicine has been administered during the school day. Soon the frequency of the medical slips will reduce as these will be replaced by emails.
At times, it’s important for us to pause and reflect on who we are as a school community, what we stand for, and the shared purpose that brings us together. Vicar’s Green Primary is a vibrant, wonderfully diverse and high-achieving school where we celebrate different cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs rooted in strong values, clear expectations, and a deep sense of community ensuring every child flourishes. We are committed to ensuring all families feel welcome and where pupils are safe, respected and ready to learn.
Our policies and procedures are designed to support fairness, inclusion, and the wellbeing of every child, helping us maintain the positive and cohesive atmosphere we know parents value. As an educational setting, our core purpose is to help each child achieve their potential and prepare confidently for the next stage in their learning. We are extremely proud our pupils perform strongly in formal assessments, a reflection of our carefully planned curriculum and the high-quality teaching provided by our dedicated staff, which has been corroborated by our ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating.
Our teachers, leaders, and governors work hard to maintain high standards, while ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed. Together, with your support as parents and carers, we remain focused on giving every child the best possible experience throughout their time with us.
It was lovely to see a few parents with their toddlers on our premises this Thursday morning for the very first session of our ‘Stay and Play’. This session is open to all families with children 3 years and under. A couple of our EYFS teachers held sessions for the children to join in, and I hear these were very popular. We are hoping to see more of you in the coming sessions.
Warm regards Iman Basu Roy
