Message from the Head Teacher
As we enter the last week of the Autumn Term, festivities are in full flow at Vicar’s Green Primary School. The children are enjoying the build-up to the season, and there is a wonderful sense of excitement across the school. On Monday we have Christmas Jumper Day and all children are allowed to wear a festive jumper of their choice, but this needs to be with their usual school uniform and shoes. I am looking forward to seeing many of you at the Winter Market, where we will be having a small musical performance to showcase our various musical groups.
There will be a range of stalls at the market from popcorn, candyfloss, doughnut bags, sweet cones, hot and soft drinks. As it’s only an hour we have tried to organise the fair so transactions can be swift – please may I request that you bring along loose change as we are unable to accept £20 notes due to shortage of change.
Class parties are next week and the details of what your child needs to bring will be shared with them by their class teacher next week.
The deadline for Reception admissions is 15th January 2026, so please remember to complete the form via the council before the deadline and make sure you tick the box if they have siblings in the school. This is essential as otherwise siblings will not get the priority in the admission rounds.
As well as the events happening here at school, there are many wonderful festive activities taking place in our local area that families might enjoy over the coming weeks. From Christmas light switch-ons and seasonal markets to outdoor ice skating and winter trails. There’s plenty on offer to help make special memories with your children. These community events are a lovely way to embrace the season, explore local spirit and enjoy quality family time together.
Warm regards Iman Basu Roy
