Message from the Head Teacher
As you are aware there is a vacancy in our governing body for one parent governor position. The information regarding this went out a few weeks ago, following which there has been a lot of interest and we have quite a few parents, who have been nominated to stand for the post. Upon our return the details of these nominations will be sent out along with the ballot papers and the parent eligibility forms. Parents are requested to read the information shared by the nominees and select one candidate, who they believe will be most suitable to represent their voice in the governing board. Both the ballot papers and the parent eligibility forms will have to be returned together to the school office, where they will be kept securely till the end of the vote submission period.
Parent governors play a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of the school. They represent the views of families, support the leadership team in making key decisions, and help ensure that every child receives the best possible education. Working alongside staff and other governors, they bring valuable perspectives that strengthen our school community and hold us all to account in a constructive, supportive way. They contribute to discussions on areas such as safeguarding, inclusion, and educational outcomes, and may take part in activities like learning walks to understand the school’s strengths and priorities. Parent governors are not expected to represent or speak on behalf of other parents or resolve individual issues; instead, they guide parents to the proper complaints or support procedures. Their duties also include upholding professional conduct, confidentiality, and attending meetings.
Below I have shared a snippet of all the work across key stages to mark Black History Month and to understand the contributions of the black community to our society.
Earlier this week it was Diwali, and I would like to wish all our families celebrating a Happy Diwali and a prosperous new year.
