Message from the Headteacher
The end of another academic year is here and I feel privileged to write this message to you. It has been a year of reflection, forward planning and making decisions to shape the journey of the school for the next few years.
We are proud to announce yet another year of strong academic outcomes: in KS2 SATs results were significantly above national, and a notably high proportion of pupils achieved greater depth. Year 4 children excelled in the Multiplication Tables Check and in Year 1 phonics screening, the results were equally impressive, with the majority of pupils meeting the expected standard. The school was inspected by a Local Authority Inspector during the phonics screening week, and she found the practices and procedures to be compliant and highly efficient. These outstanding outcomes reflect the dedication of our staff, pupils and families—well done to all! Details of the performance data will be up on the school website upon our return.
This year, we have focused on implementing a few projects across the curriculum to enhance pupils’ learning and cultural experiences. In the future, we hope to gather evidence from these ventures and apply for external validations in the form of awards and accreditations. Next year, the school will be working towards the Eco Silver Award; Arts Mark; Gold Travel Award; PE Accreditations and Healthy School Awards. This July, we were also awarded Cultivating Ealing Best New School Garden 2025; two judges looked at our sustainability gardening project, spoke to the teachers and the children before selecting us as this year’s champions.
This time of year, staff do move around and here at Vicar’s Green Primary we are saying goodbye to:
- Mr Torres, who is going back home to Spain and is aiming to teach there
- Ms Rai who is planning on going travelling
- Ms Mathura who is taking some time off to explore
- Mrs Wilkinson our art teacher is retiring, and
- Mrs Waters, who worked in the lower school, is relocating out of London to be nearer to her grandchildren.
New to the team will be Miss Khan & Ms Durrant who are our new class teachers, and Ms Limliman, who will be our new cover teacher.
We wish all those leaving us good luck and look forward to working with the new staff.
Thank you to all those parents, who have taken the time to reply to the parent feedback form in relation to the end of year reports, we have had approximately 118 replies and all are highly positive and an absolute delight to read. Again, I will share these with you on the school website.
On behalf of the school I would like to thank the governing board for their ongoing support and dedication and for being the critical friend that all Headteachers need to successfully implement their duties. We truly appreciate their expertise and commitment in driving the school forward so all pupils can achieve their best.
Warm regards Iman Basu Roy
