Message from the Head Teacher

We are very lucky to have many different languages spoken by our children and families, reflecting the variety of cultures and countries within our school community.

Today, we celebrated European Day of Languages, with children learning keywords and phrases from a range of European languages. As you know, children begin learning French when they enter Key Stage 2, so today was a lovely opportunity to celebrate languages beyond French too.

This week, we started our Year Ahead meetings for Key Stage 1 and Years 3–5, with the Year 6 meeting taking place next Tuesday. It was lovely to see so many parents attending and finding out more about the year ahead.

These sessions are an important opportunity to share key procedures, events and information for the new academic year. This year, we also introduced some new areas, including belonging as a school community, the positive and appropriate use of AI, and the importance of limiting screen time, particularly at key points in the day.

As we begin October next week, we have a busy month ahead filled with events and celebrations. We will be starting Black History Month, which we celebrate as a whole school, alongside our Democracy Morning, where we will elect new members to our Pupil Voice Groups.

Finally, our survey for the Family School Partnership Award closes on Friday 2nd October. Please do take a moment to complete it, as your views will help guide how we work with our families throughout the year.

 Warm regards                                                                      Iman Basu Roy

Proud of Perivale Community Day

Last weekend, families from Vicar’s Green Primary School took part in the Proud of Perivale Community Day. Families joined the morning litter pick, including helping to clear the alleyway alongside our school, making a positive difference to our local area.

In the afternoon, families enjoyed a range of activities and spent time with other members of the Perivale community. It was a lovely opportunity for families to come together, meet others and celebrate the community we are part of.

A big thank you to all the Vicar’s Green families who joined in and gave their time to support the event. We are very grateful for the way you represented our school and helped to make a positive difference to our local community.
