Message from the Head Teacher
As we begin a new school year, helping children feel secure, settled and ready to learn is important. Children are more likely to engage positively with learning when they understand routines and expectations, while also feeling safe, connected and supported. Families can help by continuing to provide meaningful and enjoyable experiences both within and outside school, as these help develop confidence, connection and a sense of belonging. Establishing consistent routines at home can also make the transition back to school smoother, providing children with clear expectations and reducing feelings of overwhelm.
A calm evening wind-down and regular sleep routine are equally important. Good-quality sleep supports children’s concentration, emotional wellbeing and readiness to learn. It is also valuable to make time for family, friends and other important relationships, as positive connections provide emotional support and help children feel secure as they navigate a new school year.
By building these strong foundations at home, we can work together to help every child feel confident, settled and ready for a successful year ahead.
This year we are thinking of creative ways of increasing parent involvement in school, and to start this project we need your feedback. Mrs Simpson our Deputy Headteacher is leading this project, and below has included an article with an embedded link to a survey. Please may I request you to take a few moments to complete this as soon as possible, as the feedback we receive will enable us to generate effective next steps.
Finally, the start of the year has been wonderfully calm, pupils all look very smart and have come in wearing correct uniforms. I would like to thank you for your support.
Warm regards Iman Basu Roy
