Message from the Head Teacher
Welcome back to school after the long spring break. I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable holiday, and are ready for the start of the summer term.
Our school value for April is Responsibility. We will be encouraging children to take responsibility for their learning, behaviour, and belongings. Simple habits such as bringing the correct equipment to school and looking after their uniform make a big difference, and we appreciate your support in reinforcing this at home.
Although the weather is starting to become warmer, we can still expect some cooler days. Please ensure that children continue to bring a jacket to school. On warmer days, many children remove their jumpers, cardigans, and coats; however, we have noticed an increasing amount of lost uniforms that is not labelled. To help us return items quickly, by ensuring that all uniform is clearly labelled with your child’s name, either using a permanent marker or iron-on labels, which are widely available.
I am delighted to share some exciting news about our girls’ football team, who have recently been promoted into a higher league. They will now be competing for the PEAL Shield as part of an Ealing borough inter-school competition. This is a fantastic achievement, and we are very proud of the team. They have been working hard with Mr Rasiah in preparation, and I look forward to updating you on their progress throughout the term.
As the days become longer and the evenings are brighter, it is especially important that children maintain healthy sleep routines. Children of primary school age should get between 9–12 hours of sleep each night in order to function well at school. This also links closely to screen time. Please ensure that screen use in the evenings is kept to a minimum—no longer than one hour—and that children have a break from screen of at least 1–2 hours before bedtime. This will help them wind down and ensure they are ready for a restful night’s sleep.
Warm regards Iman Basu Roy
