Message from the Head Teacher

Providing children with a healthy, balanced diet is essential for their growth, development, and readiness to learn. The government’s provision of free school meals for all primary-aged pupils ensures that every child has access to a nutritious, hot meal each day. Our menus are carefully planned by qualified nutritionists to include the right balance of vitamins and minerals needed to support children’s physical development, including strong bones and teeth, as well as sustained energy for learning.

School meals also play an important role in broadening children’s tastes by exposing them to a variety of foods and textures, helping to reduce fussy eating habits as they grow older. Sharing a hot meal together further supports social development and encourages positive eating habits.

As a school, we are committed to supporting the government’s vision that all children benefit from a healthy hot meal at lunchtime. Therefore, from after the Easter break, we ask that parents do not send packed lunches, unless there is a specific dietary requirement that the school is unable to cater for and this has been agreed with the school in advance. We appreciate your support in helping us promote healthy habits for all children.

Lots of parents came to visit the school to meet the teachers of their children this week. I hope you found these meetings useful and informative and are now aware of the next steps of progress for your child.  A survey parents of children with special education needs and pupil premium was conducted and we are in the process of collating the results. Once we have these I will share them with you in the newsletter and on the website. Parental surveys are an important way for schools to gather feedback and strengthen their partnership with families. They provide valuable insight into parents’ views on different aspects of school life, helping leaders understand what is working well and where improvements may be needed. This feedback supports informed decision-making and ensures that the school continues to develop in a way that reflects the needs of its community. Surveys also give parents a voice, allowing them to contribute to the school’s ongoing improvement journey.

As we approach the Easter break, this is a special time for reflection, renewal, and celebration. Easter is widely recognised as a time of hope and new beginnings, which links beautifully with the growth and progress we see in our pupils throughout the year. In school, children will be taking part in a range of seasonal activities that celebrate creativity and togetherness. We hope the holiday provides families with an opportunity to rest, spend quality time together, and enjoy the signs of spring. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for the summer term ahead.

 Warm regards                                                                      Iman Basu Roy
