Message from the Head Teacher
Let’s begin with some wonderful celebratory news. Year 3 Nuthatch have been awarded Best Behaviour in Assembly for this term. This recognition reflects not only how they enter and exit the hall, but also the respect, attentiveness, and confidence they demonstrate during our weekly assemblies. We are extremely proud of them. As a well-deserved reward, the class will be invited to come into school in their own clothes on the last day of term, Friday 27th March 2026. A separate letter will be sent by Ms Lydon with further details.
We are also pleased to share a new initiative led by Mrs Simpson and Mrs Hughes, celebrating the achievements of our SEND pupils. Each half-term, children will be awarded certificates to recognise their individual successes and milestones, no matter how small. These will be presented in school, with an electronic copy shared with parents. Positive affirmation plays a crucial role in building confidence, self-esteem, and motivation. By recognising effort and progress, we help children develop resilience, a sense of pride in their achievements, and a belief in their own abilities.
In addition, we have provided further support for our pupil premium children through a range of additional learning resources. Year 3 pupils have received a thesaurus and dictionary set, which they can keep and use throughout their time at school to support their language development. All children have also been given a mindfulness colouring book to support focus, emotional regulation, and wellbeing. There is no expectation for these to be returned to school; instead, we encourage children to use them at home in short, manageable sessions to build positive learning habits. Eid Mubarak to all our families, celebrating from myself and the team here at Vicar's Green.
Warm regards Iman Basu Roy
