Message from the Head Teacher

As you will have seen at the start of the autumn term, there was a large building site at the front of the school. This project required significant planning and time, and I am delighted to share that our new art studio is now complete. This is a fantastic addition to our school, and in the new year we will be consulting the School Council to help choose a name for the new space.

On Monday, we held our annual Winter Market, which was bustling with children and families. Thank you for your generous donations and support, which helped us raise a whopping profit of £565. We were also very fortunate with the weather. It was a delight to enjoy performances from our choir, recorder players and guitarists. The event also gave us the opportunity to trial our new microphones and sound system, which, alongside the festive lights, created a wonderful atmosphere and allowed the children to perform so confidently.

Later in the spring term, we will be introducing a new Stay and Play session for families with children aged three and under. These monthly sessions will offer parents and children the chance to engage in educational activities and use our school facilities alongside our Early Years staff. Further details will be shared in the new year. Please see more information on the poster below.

This term, we have also refreshed our technology resources to enhance learning across the curriculum. Classes now have access to new iPads, while a full set of Chromebooks and a full class set of laptops are available for use across the whole school. These resources support learning through online platforms such as Purple Mash, Mathletics and Times Tables Rock Stars, as well as programmes including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. To support this, we have also invested in a new charging trolley to ensure equipment is stored securely and ready for use.

To finish the term, staff have taken part in a Christmas Secret Read activity, choosing a book for a colleague to enjoy over the holidays — we are looking forward to sharing our festive reads at the end of today.

Finally, I would like to wish all those celebrating Christmas a very Merry Christmas, and to all our families, a restful and enjoyable break spent with friends and family.

All children are to return to school on Tuesday 6th January 2026 at 8.50am.

Warm regards                                                                      Iman Basu Roy
