Ealing Family Support Network holds a range of events to empower adults in our community. The group works to provide sessions on art therapy for adults, Borough Front Line information on getting more money in families' pockets, grant funding from Tesco, inclusive sports and more. Today we have advertised two of these upcoming sessions and if you are interested please give them a call to enrol. This will provide you with the opportunity to speak to some professionals and meet people in your local area.
This morning, I attended an online briefing led by Professor Becky Francis, organised by the Area-based Education Partnerships Association (AEPA) and Herts for Learning. The session focused on current national priorities around curriculum review, including how schools can continue to deliver a broad, balanced, and ambitious curriculum for all pupils. It was an excellent opportunity to hear directly from one of the country’s leading education experts and to reflect on how these national developments align with our own school priorities for the year ahead. The message was ‘Evolution and not Revolution’, meaning that she has suggested changes to develop from what we have rather than overhauling the complete system. In relation to the primary years, the review suggests that we look at the accessibility of the Phonics Check and the Multiplication Test and that the English Grammar Punctuation and Spelling Tests at the end of Key Stage 2 should be reviewed so focus shifts to the application of grammar in writing rather than memorisation and over learning.
Finally, I am delighted to introduce our new Head Boy and Head Girl – please scroll down for further details.
