Message from the Headteacher
I am absolutely delighted with your feedback and comments in response to the end-of-year reports and I thought it would be a good idea to share the responses in today’s newsletter. Below, you will find three separate graphs that show how our parent community feel about the education, progress and well-being of their child. The majority of parents feel that their child is making good progress and the teaching and learning is of a consistently high standard. There are a few suggestions about how changes could be made to homework, which we will take on board and incorporate as we move forward through the year. Here at school we all try our best for the children and the validation and positive feedback from our parents means a lot to us all.
The School Council elections are going to be taking place next week and children will need to prepare and give a speech to their classmates, following which there will be an election, where the children will vote for the representatives. Should your child wish to contend for the position, I suggest you spend sometime this weekend helping them prepare their speech and listen to their speech delivery a few times as this will give them confidence to speak in front of their class. Our School Councillors are an active group, who have the opportunity to participate in multiple events which influence and shape the direction of the school. The other pupil roles, such as playground friends, eco team, reading ambassadors will also be allocated next week.
If you are sending a snack for your KS2 child to have at playtime, please make sure these are healthy and not full of sugar as too much sugar effects their concentration and they find it difficult to focus for the rest of the morning. Snacks should ideally be a small fruit, carrot or celery sticks or cheese. The snacks you choose to give your child should be high in fibre and protein and any carbohydrate should be slow release so they get a steady source of energy.
Warm regards Iman Basu Roy
