Girls football competition 2017

On the 9th of November 2017, 8 girls from Years 5&6 went to a girl’s football competition at Northolt High School.

There were two sessions; one in the morning and one in the afternoon, however, Vicar’s Green attended the morning session. When all the 9 schools (including us) arrived, they told us all the rules and gave out the timetables for the matches to our team manager (Mr Khiri) then we started our first match. There were 6 players on each team, while two of us were substitutes waiting in case anyone got hurt and was unable to play.

We played 8 matches; we lost the first two matches but we won the third 1-0. Unfortunately we then lost two more matches and had drew the next three.

After that they collected all the points and gave us the scores. However, before that they gave teamwork certificates out to 4 schools including us. In general they only called out 1st, 2nd and 3rd, which we weren’t but we did get placed 4th overall.

When that was over, it was a bit early and our bus hadn’t arrived so, we ate all our food and played a football together. We took an Ealing Community bus again and arrived at school at about 2pm having had a really enjoyable morning.
