Our Year 3 classes went on a local walk to explore how land is used in our community. The children observed different types of land use, such as residential areas, shops and restaurants. They made notes on a map of what the buildings were used for, thinking about how each space was used and who might use it. This hands-on experience helped them understand how people shape and use the environment around them.
