Fantasy stories: We will read fantasy stories and compare and
contrast fantasy settings. We will orally compose and enact fantasy stories with conflict and resolution.

Information Texts: We will learn about the features and functions of information texts and create own texts about plants, which will
include posters and information pages with moving pictures.



Recounts: We will look at different stages in the growth of a bean plant and sequence pictures of the growth. The children keep a Bean diary of their observations.

Poetry: poems on a theme: We will listen and respond to a range of poems on a similar theme and explore poetry writing in shared
. The children will write their own poem about sunflowers and growing plants.



Numbers and counting: We will learn to count to and beyond 100. Identify and represent numbers using objects and pictorials. We will also learn to identify one more and one less from a given number.

Calculating: represent and use number bonds, add and subtract 1 digit to 2 digit numbers, add a multiple of 10 to a 2 digit number by counting in tens, add two ‘teens’ numbers, find a difference by counting on and subtract a multiple of 10 from another multiple of 10, use concrete resources and pictures to help solve problems.

Weight and Volume: compare, describe and solve practical problems involving mass and weight, capacity and volume. Measure and begin to record mass/weight, capacity and volume. Money - recognise and know the value of different denominations of coins and notes. Using this knowledge to solve simple word problems.
